| The Air and Missile Defense Training Center (AMDTC) Mission On a rotational basis, provide a realistic training environment, focused on developing soldiers, leaders and units of our nation’s Air and Missile Defense forces for success on future battlefields. The AMDTC utilizes Combat Training Center (CTC) methodology with Observer Controllers, a thinking OPFOR, and rigorous stressful scenarios to train Air Defense Batteries, Battalions, and Brigades. Focus on their ability to Shoot, Move, and Communicate. Pressure and inject anxiety into their Engagement Operations mission. Conduct After Action Reviews (AAR) at all levels. Commanding General’s Intent Provide mid to high intensity, realistic, stressful training to Air and Missile Defense commanders and their staffs. - Develop and conduct a wide range of likely tactical and operational scenarios. - Focus on all aspects of training and operations. - Based on real-world missions and OPLANS. - Each Battalion Commander goes through at least one rotation. - A mix of simulation and live environment. - Leverage Fort Bliss training resources. - Conduct an interactive AAR process. - Units receive a comprehensive Take Home Packet. - Provide command & staff training on MDMP. - Provide opposing force (Ground-live, Air-Live and Sim) to support training. - Standardize operations in Air Defense units IAW current doctrine, and provide feedback to units, USAADASCH, and the doctrine centers. - Ensure that rigor is incorporated into every exercise, while maintaining the flexibility to tailor exercise design to meet the Commander’s intent. - Professionally develop officers, NCO’s, and soldiers on the augmentation OC Team. |
